Tips for keeping your family cold and flu-free

The cold season is not my favorite time of year, its when Tristan get sick, very easily..He goes back to school and seems to pick up everything the other kids are carrying. I honestly don't think kids wash there hands enough and germs spread fast. I try to keep Tristan out of public places as much as possible during the cold and flu season, buts its hard when he has many doctors appointments and therapies each week. Having special needs and being medically fragile sure doesn't help when he gets sick, so I want to share several tips and ideas to help keep your family cold and flu free.

1. Wash your hands! Everytime you go to the store or your in a public place be sure to wash your hands any chance you get. Also, after going to the bathroom or blowing your nose. If your not able to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer if its available.

2. Help boost your immune system by taking vitamins or probotics. Eat healthy foods and exercise daily.
Make sure you get plenty of Vitamin C, a good breakfast is the best start to your day.

3. Make sure you disinfect as often as possible, wipe everything down, door knobs, the phone, tables and other surfaces, Toys, and the bathroom! (ew?)

4. Dispose of tissues, I can't stand a snot rag or tissue laying around! Throw it away!!

5. Stay away from public places as much as possible during the cold and flu season, everyone has to go the grocery store, even those that are sick, and if your not sick, I can bet you will be soon enough!

6. As for children, don't share food, toys, or touch hands etc.

To some it all up, the best way to prevent cold and flu is by trying to stay healthy with daily exercise and eating healthy. Get a flu shot too!! and Wash those hands!! Often!
